With fall family sessions on the horizon, we wanted to share a few of our favorite locations for sessions around East Atlanta!
McDaniel Farm Park is minutes away from the craziness of Gwinnett Place Mall and I-85. This park is located on land that was owned and farmed by the McDaniel family from 1859 to 1999. Recreated on the property are many elements from back when the land was farmed such as a garden, blacksmith shed, barn, and the adorable white farmhouse. With paved walking trails, there are plenty of picturesque views including fields, bridges and a really cool old truck. The entire area is great for pictures! This place is best for a 1-2 hour session because there is so much to see!
Once privately owned and now a part of the Gwinnett County parks department, Vines is a uniquely beautiful park complete with a winding path around a gorgeous lake, gazebo, rose gardens, towering trees, Asian garden, fish pond with lily pads, flowering bushes, turtles, birds and more. Perfect for family photos with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. This is a GREAT place for mini sessions but we can easily spend an hour or two here.
Freeman’s Mill Park is a little 12 acre park that is very cool restored 19th century grist mill and a beautiful waterfall which is a short walk down a dirt path. This is a really unique and scenic place for pictures! And BONUS…there is a rubber-padded playground for the kids to be bribed with during the session!!!! This is the best place for mini sessions!
